Friends of the Library raises $15,000 for new Young Adult Materials
The
Friends of the New County Library are a diverse group of dedicated people
who work to enrich and promote the services and programs of the New County
Library District for all citizens of our community. We have just completed
one of our greatest fundraising efforts to date. Over $15,000.00 was raised
during the annual Friends' Fall Fling and Silent Auction. These funds
are earmarked for the development of the Von Braun Memorial Young Adult
Collection.
The Friends of the Library are continually looking for
new faces to help with a variety of activities. We encourage all levels
of volunteerism and giving. Look around our site to see the excitement
of the New County Public Library Friends of the Library.
Volunteering
The New County Library District Volunteer Program has many opportunities
for people to share their skills, experience, time and energy. More than
150 individuals volunteer in the library system each year.
Library Foundation
The New County Library District Foundation is a not-for-profit volunteer
organization incorporated in 1991 to receive gifts and bequests and to
administer those funds in support of the public library.
Gifts & Donations
Your personal gift to the library in memory of a friend or loved one provides
a lasting tribute that benefits the entire community. Celebrate happy
times such as the birthday of a child or special friend with a gift to
the library in their name. You may suggest material on a specific subject,
or ask the library to choose for you. Each book will contain a gift plate
with your name as donor and the name of the person honored. Your organization's
gift to the Library District makes you a partner in providing quality
library service to our community. You may earmark the funds for materials
in your particular area of interest. Each item will contain a bookplate
with your organization's name as donor.
